Draw/Design everyday, Week 7 – Illustrator tyre track brushes – Free download

Posted by February 15th, 2010 36 Comments »

This weeks project started a little over a year ago when I made a custom tyre track pattern brush for the art work on the packaging of a GPS product. At the time I thought it might be cool to do a whole set of them and now I have. I’ve also included the original brush in the set you can download and use for what ever you want bellow.

click here to download brush set

Installation:

  1. Unzip the file
  2. Copy file into your Adobe Illustrator/Presets/Brushes folder
  3. If Illustrator is open you will need to close it and restart the application.

Hiya, These brushes are great, however, the file for download is corrupt. FYI. Thanks

Peter on November 27, 2011

Strange, I just downloaded it myself and i worked for me.

Peter on January 13, 2012

Dom on January 30, 2012

I just download these brushes and it says the file is corrupt.

Peter on January 30, 2012

What browser are you using? I just downloaded it myself using Firefox with no problem.

Debbie on January 30, 2012

Hey, I am using IE and it says the file is corrupt here too!

Peter on January 30, 2012

Weird, seems to be a issue with IE. I'll have a look around an see if I can sort it out. For now all I can suggest is to use Firefox or Chrome, I've tested it and it works fine on those browsers.

Sweet. EXACTLY what I was struggling to create! Thanks for allowing me NOT to have to reinvent the wheel (tracks)!

Thank you so much. I was creating tire marks from scratch, but this is so much better. Thank you again.

Brenda on July 18, 2013

Is there anyway to get these in a format to use in Photoshop as I do Not have illustrator

Pete on October 4, 2013

Thank you so much for providing the tyre tread patterns. Saved me time. :)

Darcy on October 13, 2013

Downloaded with Google Chrome in 2013 to Win7, Ai CS6. Used the bike tread with 2pt stroke, changed opacity to 30% to make it gray, overlapped giant shoe prints. Looks cool on my illustration of an area map. What Heather said in 2012 and thanks!

Adam on December 3, 2013

Thank you so much for these. Exactly what I was after.

Liz on December 6, 2015

Thanks Peter, these are great - I'm using one to frame a photo of my dear bike crazy brother who sadly died recently - it would have made him laugh. X

Rocky on April 1, 2016

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!!

Noni120 on January 25, 2017

What a selfless thing you've done! Thank you! It's also taught me WHY the ones I was trying to create were not working. (Ends must be flat). I do have one question though-would you tell me what I'm doing wrong-I'm creating a path and applying the brush (in Illustrator cs5). Only one wheel is applied (instead of a "set" or 2 tracks). Anyone?

Peter on January 25, 2017

Yeah, it's only one track. If you want 2 you'll need to make 2 lines.

Jess H on April 27, 2017

This just opens as a AI file when I download it - does anyone else have that problem?

Caio Graco on June 8, 2017

Cool tracks, thanks for posting these brushes.

Laura on December 29, 2017

Thank you for these. They are really helpful!
