Dded week 12 – Retro future Tees

Posted by March 22nd, 2010 No Comments »

This week I’ve done some quick ideas for some retro future t-shirts. Retro future is like old sci-fi or what people though the future (or now present) would be like, sort of like the Jetson’s. With these t-shirt designs I was going for the type of thing Jayne Cobb would wear if Firefly was a cartoon made in the early 60’s. If you don’t get that reference, you’re on the Internet – google it.

Like all Draw/Desgin everyday projects, I didn’t spend too much time on these, but I like some of them and will probably work on them some more

Dded week 9 – Pixel backgrounds

A few weeks ago I did some pixel art characters which was fun so this week I had a go at some 8 and 16 bit gaming inspired pixel backgrounds. All are on a 256×244 canvas, a couple of ’em don’t suck too hard.

Draw/Design everyday, Week 8 – Alien

This week I’ve done a series of vector illustrations of a little grey alien guy. All started as a rough sketch either on paper or in Photoshop. Sketches were then imported into Illustrator and traced with either my own custom art brushes (the ray gun guy) or with a round brush with thickness controlled with pen pressure. Colours were quickly chucked in with the live paint tool. Some of these turned out OK so I might work on a few a bit more since they are all still quite rough.

This weeks project started a little over a year ago when I made a custom tyre track pattern brush for the art work on the packaging of a GPS product. At the time I thought it might be cool to do a whole set of them and now I have. I’ve also included the original brush in the set you can download and use for what ever you want bellow.

Draw/Design everyday, Week 5 – Hands

25-01-2010 to 31-01-2010. Hand drawn hands,

I thought that this week it would be good to draw something I and a lot of folks have trouble with. I don’t think my efforts suck too hard, still a ways to go yet.
